How on earth do you pronounce your name?
My name, though it looks confusing, is very easy to say. Its pronounced like Dayna, Dana, or Day-nuh if you prefer a more phonetic description.
What are your wedding packages prices?
My packages range between $3100 and $6000 depending on what coverage and products you'd like. I'd love to get together over coffee (or snacks!) and talk about your wedding photography needs. Shoot me an email to set up a time for us to get to know each other here!
What is included in your wedding packages?
All of my packages include at least 6 hours of coverage, an online viewing gallery to order prints from, and a USB drive with printing rights. Higher packages can include extra hours, albums, print credits, and other upgrades. And as a bonus, all my packages include a complementary engagement session!
How do the engagement sessions work?
Engagement sessions can be purchased on their for $300, which includes location scouting, time shooting and editing, and an in person sales meeting. With a wedding package, that $300 turns into FREE! The sessions last between 1-2 hours and focus on the interaction between the two of you. About 2 weeks after we shoot, we will get together for you to see your images and order any prints, products and files.
How many images can we expect from our day?
No two weddings are the same, but on average you can expect around 50 images per hour of coverage. This can vary based on how detail and event rich your wedding day is and if the package you choose includes a second shooter or not.
How long will it take to get our photos?
My standard turn around time is 6-8 weeks to get your image gallery up. If you are getting a wedding album, once the design is approved by you, the album and USB should arrive within a couple weeks together.
What happens if we go over our allotted amount of time on our wedding day?
No worries. Delays happen, especially on a wedding day. I'll be keeping up on your timeline throughout the day but if it is looking like our contract may end before a significant part of your night, I'll quickly pull you aside and let you make the decision on if you'd like me to stay later or not. Extra time is billed at $300 per hour and will be invoiced after your wedding.
Who owns the copyright of my photos?
As the creator of the images, I will retain their copyright. This protects me from my art being edited, published, or sold without my approval. If your package includes a USB of files, you will be entitled reproduction rights so you can make prints wherever you choose.
Who chooses the images for my album?
Typically, I will design the album first then let you preview it, make any changes you need, then have you approve it. One round of changes is free, further changes will be charged. We will talk about your album needs before the design process begins, though, so often few or no changes are even needed.
Do you collect tax?
Under Michigan law, yes, I have to. Unfortunately, it is something I have to do in order to run a legal legitimate business. If you're in the mood to read, here is the law on page 39: http://www7.dleg.state.mi.us/orr/Files/AdminCode/948_2010-012TY_AdminCode.pdf The law is laughably obvious it isn't written by photographers, but that thing they call the "camera charge" is the fee a photographer charges to take the photos. Feel free to ask me any other questions about the taxes that you may have, as I know there can be a lot of confusion in this department.
Do you accept credit cards?
Sure do! I accept credit cards through Paypal online and in person for product orders and retainer fees. Final wedding package payments must be made in cash or check.
How do I reserve you for my wedding?
Regardless which package you choose to go with, once I receive your signed and completed contract and your retainer fee of $1500, you can officially consider me your wedding photographer. Without those two things, I cannot save any date and will continue taking inquiries.
What is a re-wed session?
A re-wed session is a fun shoot where you and your significant other get to re-do your wedding portraits together. Maybe the weather was not what you were dreaming of for your wedding photos or you ran out of time on the day of. Maybe you made a mistake with the photographer you had chosen to capture your wedding day or didn't have a photographer at all. Maybe you're celebrating a milestone or anniversary with another round of photos all gussied up. Whatever your reason is, I absolutely love doing these sessions. If you're interested in setting up a re-wed session, please contact me here to get it in the works!
